What's a Purdue Career Account?
All Purdue University students, faculty, and staff have a Purdue Career Account. Your Purdue Career Account can be used as long as you are a student of Purdue University. Your Purdue Career Account login and password can be set up to access SSINFO as well as most ITaP (Information Technology at Purdue) services, including Purdue computer labs, WebCT, ResNet, your Purdue Webmail, the wireless network, and more. Learn more about your Purdue Career Account . You can activate your Purdue Career Account through SSINFO, Purdue's Student Services Information portal on the Web. SSINFO can be accessed at www.ssinfo.purdue.edu. SSINFO can also be accessed at any time through the Purdue Homepage by clicking the SSINFO link in the top right corner of the page. Start Here to Activate your Career Account (It may help to print this page as a reference.)
1. Go to www.ssinfo.purdue.edu and click the Login button in the Main Menu bar.
2. Enter your Login (or Temporary Login as explained below) and your Temporary Password and click the Login button.
Your Login is your Purdue Identifier ( PUID ). You can find your PUID on the mailing address sheet that came in your Admissions "Congratulations!" packet OR at the top of the Admissions Response Form. (Later, you'll be able to use your Career Account Alias to login to SSINFO as well.) If you have misplaced these forms or cannot find your PUID, you may use your Temporary Login, your Student Identification Number (usually your Social Security Number, unless you have requested a different number). Your Temporary Password is your birthdate + pu (MMDDYYpu). For example, if you were born 3/24/88 (March 24, 1988) your Temporary Password would be 032488pu. Be sure to use a leading zero for single-digit months and days (03 instead of 3). You will be able to use your Temporary Login ONLY ONCE. You will be able to use your Temporary Password ONLY ONCE also unless you have your SSINFO password reset by a member of ITaP Customer Service. As you can see, it is very important that you remember the Career Account Alias/login that you are issued and the new password that you are creating at this time! 3. Verify your identity You will be asked a few questions to verify your identity. These questions are based on information you entered on your admission application or from other sources. Once we have verified your identity, you will be required to change your SSINFO Password. 4. Change your Password Please, remember the alias/login that you are issued and the new password you are creating at this time. They are your Purdue Career Account login and password. Below "Select an option (See Page Help for more information):", you will see a link that reads "Click here to view your Purdue Career Account Login". Click it to view your Purdue Career Account username/login and Purdue Email Account. Remember both of them. You'll use both often.
Enter passwords as requested. To ensure that all your Purdue passwords are synchronized, leave the top “option” selected. It’s the default option. Just click on Change Password. Remember your New Password! 5. Find your PUID , if you don't already know it.
After logging into SSINFO Memorize your PUID. You'll use it often also. Why is your PUID important? The Purdue University Identification (PUID) is a 10-digit number unique to each individual. The number is printed on your Purdue photo identification card, your primary identification within Purdue. The number is designed to:
6. Access your Purdue email using Purdue Webmail Login to Purdue Webmail (https://webmail.purdue.edu/) to use your You@Purdue email account. Enter your username and password. Your username is your Purdue Career Account Alias, the portion of your Purdue email address to the left of the "@" sign: UserName@purdue.edu. Your password is the password you established in Step 4 above. 7. Need Help? Email questions or concerns to ssinfo@purdue.edu or call us at (765) 494-4000. | |||||||||||||
